Ceren Gündoğdu

A singer-songwriter who centers her music around heartfelt lyrics and striking melodies, Ceren Gündoğdu is an Istanbul-born independent artist and producer. Seamlessly blending genres in her intimate piano-driven performances, she offers a fresh and romantic take on contemporary Turkish pop.

Born into a family of musicians, Ceren studied musical theater and piano at the State Conservatory while completing her sociology degree at Boğaziçi University as valedictorian. She later pursued a master's degree in media and communication at Galatasaray University, during which she began performing professionally at Istanbul State Theaters.

In 2020, she released her debut solo album Kapalı Gözlerle, featuring seven original songs. Her singles Kapı and Beni Affet gained widespread recognition on digital platforms and radio, expanding her audience significantly. Meanwhile, her reimagined covers on YouTube established a strong connection with listeners who appreciate a diverse musical landscape.

Ceren’s second studio album, Işık Olur Gözlerin, was released in February 2025. As the songwriter, composer, co-producer, and creative force behind the album, she brings together deeply personal storytelling with nostalgic yet distinctive sonic elements. Out of the 12 songs on the album, 11 were written and composed by Ceren herself.

As the daughter of a renowned folk music conductor (Zafer Gündoğdu) and a Turkish classical music artist, Ceren has a natural affinity for the rich musical heritage of her homeland. She expresses a deep desire to create a sound where Eastern and Western influences harmonize organically.

Beyond her original music, Ceren has captivated audiences with her leading performances in iconic Broadway productions such as Fiddler on the Roof and Urinetown, further showcasing her dynamic artistic range. Through her songs, she aims to craft a space for emotional connection and tell the stories of wounded hearts.
